PBSRSL Week 14 Round Up

It was another thrilling weekend of action in the Pacific Breeze Southern Region Soccer League

Bosso 90 Stun Mosi Rovers 3-0 At White City Stadium

Bosso 90 shocked Mosi Rovers 3-0 at White City Stadium today in a Pacific Breeze Southern Region Soccer League week 14 clash. Shepherd Mabaleka’s side dominated but were wasteful in front of goal and could have added more.

Winger Ayanda Mkhwebu broke the deadlock from the penalty spot in the 36th minute to give Bosso 90 a 1-0 lead at half-time. The hosts came out sharper after the break. Andile Lunga doubled the advantage in the 49th minute with a clinical finish.

Mosi Rovers pushed for a response but Bosso 90 sealed it in added time when substitute Mayibongwe Dube made it 3-0, putting the final nail in the contest.

Despite creating more chances, Bosso 90’s finishing let them down and the scoreline could have been bigger. The win is huge for the relegation-threatened side. Bosso 90 now have 5 points from a possible 9 in their last three games, scoring 5 goals and conceding 2. That includes the 2-2 stalemate against Zim Saints in week 12.

Byo City 2-2 Aqua Stars: Visitors Snatch Late Point At White City Stadium

Byo City FC were held 2-2 by visiting Aqua Stars at White City Stadium today in a Pacific Breeze Southern Region Soccer League week 14 thriller. The home side led 2-0 but failed to hold on as Aqua Stars staged a spirited second-half comeback.

Byo City opened the scoring in the 40th minute when Mbongeni Minezhi converted from the penalty spot. That goal sent the hosts into half-time 1-0 up and in control. The lead was doubled early in the second half as Nkanyiso Ndlovu found the net, making it 2-0 and leaving Byo City looking set for three points.

Aqua Stars, however, had other plans. Coach Rodgers Sibanda’s side pushed forward and got a lifeline in the 67th minute through substitute Ayanda Zikali, who pulled one back. The momentum shifted and Blessing Ncube completed the turnaround minutes later, slotting home from a Munashe G Sibanda cross to beat Byo City goalkeeper Tanaka Chitimbe and make it 2-2.

Muzamba’s Second-Half Strike Earns Megawatt 1-0 Win Over Zim Saints

A solitary second-half goal from Tyson Muzamba was enough to seal all three points for Megawatt FC at Chakona Stadium yesterday. The hosts edged visitors Zim Saints 1-0 in Pacific Breeze Southern Region Soccer League week 14 action.

The match was tight and cagey for large periods, with both sides struggling to break the deadlock in the first half. Muzamba changed that after the break, finding the net in the second half to give Megawatt the advantage they held until full time.

The victory marks back-to-back wins for Megawatt. They followed up last week’s win over Casmyn with another three points on home soil, continuing their climb up the table.

For Zim Saints, it’s a second straight defeat. They fell 3-2 at home to Byo City in week 13 and now leave Chakona Stadium empty-handed again as they look to regroup.

Muchada Hat-Trick Powers Imbizo FC To 3-1 Comeback Win Over Khami UTD

Kudzai Muchada was the hero as Imbizo FC fought back from a goal down to beat Khami UTD 3-1 at home in Pacific Breeze Southern Region Soccer League action. The “army side” forward bagged a hat-trick, including a penalty, in a man-of-the-match display that had the home crowd on their feet.

Khami UTD started the brighter of the two sides and stunned the hosts when Alix Mugayi put the visitors ahead in the first half. That goal was enough to see Khami take a 1-0 lead into the break, and they looked set to build on last weekend’s 3-0 win over Vic Falls Herentials.

Imbizo, however, came out with different ideas after half-time. Muchada took charge and turned the game on its head. He scored three times in the second half, with one of the goals coming from the penalty spot, to complete his hat-trick and seal a 3-1 victory for Imbizo FC.
