LATE MULENGA FREE-KICK SEALS HERENTALS WIN OVER CASMYN AT CHINOTIMBA
Vic Falls Herentals made it count in front of their home fans today, grinding out a 2-0 win over Casmyn FC in Week 11 action at Chinotimba Stadium.
The hosts struck first through Ian Mositafa, who converted in the opening half after latching onto a pinpoint long pass from the back. Defender Daniel Magaiza launched the ball from deep inside Herentals territory, catching Casmyn’s defense off guard and setting Mositafa clear for the opener.
The result was put beyond doubt two minutes from time when second-half substitute Lesley Mulenga stepped up and delivered. His 88th-minute free-kick bent perfectly to find the back of the net — a moment of quality that sparked celebrations around Chinotimba.
BULAWAYO WARRIORS SNATCH LAST-GASP WIN OVER NKAYI UNITED
Bulawayo Warriors FC snatched a dramatic 1-0 victory over Nkayi United FC on today afternoon at Chiefs Village, with Ronald Chakandiwana netting a 90+1 minute winner in Week 11 of the Pacific Breeze Southern Region Soccer League.
What should have been a routine midday kickoff turned ill-tempered before it even started. A pre-match scuffle at 11:56 during line-up delayed kickoff by seven minutes to 12:07. Warriors goalkeeper coach Wonder Peperere was sent off for violent conduct.
The match remained tight and physical for 90 minutes, which saw 8 players being booked in total. Just as a draw looked certain, Chakandiwana broke Nkayi hearts deep into stoppage time to seal all three points.
The win serves as revenge for Warriors after Nkayi edged them 2-1 in last week’s Munhumutapa Cup Challenge. Two meetings, two different results — and this time it was Warriors who emerged as winners.
